"BOTCHED ROOF"

Billy Mossie was the roofer that Brian Paterson of emerald contracts of ayr used to put one sheet of rubber on our new flat roof, and we thought that the job was done to the high standard that Brian Paterson led us to believe, 8 weeks after the job was done another roofer that was giving us a price for our main roof asked if we wanted a price for our flat roof as well, I said no it was only done 8 weeks ago, he said that I better come up and look at it as the roof has seven faults on it, so I called Brian Paterson and he sent out Billy Mossie to see it and he said that the roof was ok, the strip of felt that he put on top of the rubber was in case a slate slipped down and would go through the rubber, he said that our roof would not leek for 50years but he would go back and speak to him, two weeks later i phoned Brian Paterson to see what was going to be done, he said Billy Mossie said that there was nothing wrong with our roof, I asked him to come out and see it for himself, and he came out about three days later and said more or less the same as what Billy Mossie said, and when I asked him anything he just said that he did not know as he was not a roofer, then he said I was to ask my wife what she wanted done and I was to call him in the morning and let him know what she said, as he wants all his customers to be happy and we shook hands and I thought this was a sign of a gentlemans agreement, and before he left he said you know that your roof will not leek for 50years, I called the next day and told him that my wife would be happy if it was redone he just put the phone down on me, it was oct 2014 before I managed to speak to him and he said he would get it sorted, but we would have to wait till spring of 2015 because it was to cold to put the rubber down and we agreed to wait till he called us early spring, 2015 no call it was May 2015 before I got him on the phone, and he said he had put his company into voluntary liquidation and he had no money and would not be sorting our roof, Both Billy Mossie and Brian Paterson stood on our roof and said it would not leek for 50years, well they were both wrong our roof started to leek and we had to get the roof done again in March 2016, and the roof we thought it had seven faults had at least fifteen faults, the extra protection Billy Mossie put on to stop a slate going through was bits of rubber of different grades and all pieced in because the sheet of rubber was short, Brian Paterson has now started up again in his sons name, it is called green street builders emerald contracts, but every thing is just the same, as Brian told the Ayrshire post business as usual we have the same staff doing the same work as before, i have scored very poor as this was as low a score you could give or it would be lower..
